17th February 2007 The news is that this website is finally online and hopefully fully functional. It`s taken me a long time to build, being more or less from scratch from my own design. It probably won`t win the approval of nitpicking web geeks as I`ve sacrificed web propriety in favour of getting the look I wanted. But hey, if you run Google`s page through a W3C markup checker...it sucks!!! If you do find any glitches, please drop me a line and I`ll sort it. Don`t forget to mention what browser and screen resolution you`re using. Meanwhile, hope you like what you see, comments and suggestions appreciated! A new feature of this site is the forum, as opposed to a mere guestbook. Here you can simply leave a general message as before, or go specifically to each band members forum for chat, info or advice. Frying other Fish... Dr Blue`s ZZ Eliminator side project has taken off more than we dreamed, with bookings coming in for major venues on the circuit...just rebooked for 2 possibly 3 return dates at the New Roscoe in Leeds. Thanks to John Keenan, top Leeds promoter (who suggested the ZZ part of the name), for having the faith to give them that first gig unseen last year. The band now have 2 dates at The Springhead in Hull, and are headlining Horbury Gala in June. However, this doesn`t signal the end of Dr Blue!!! ..they go from strength to strength and will continue to gig till they drop! The band narrowly missed being on television- the BBC asked them to play at The Royal Armouries in Leeds on Children in Need night. At the final hour it was cancelled because a wedding party who were pre booked in another part of the venue vetoed live bands. Cheers! Hope their cake was dry... ;-) Finally, thanks to the photographers who have kept us supplied with stunning shots of the band, in particular the very talented ALLAN McKENZIE, who is making quite a name for himself on his photo site at FlickR and of course JON AND NIKKI of FOTOPIC.NET and our good friend DEREK LINES, all of whom have produced some superb shots at numerous gigs. Thanks to the venues, those gluttons for punishment who keep bringing Dr Blue back for more and, last but not least, to our friends and audiences for their staunch support. This site is for you.
